100 Days of Touch Designer
A daily practice of working in Touch Designer as part of the class ‘100 days of making’. As a programmer who has always been more comfortable with text-based programming, this project was an exercise in delving into visual node-based programming, taking advantage of the real-time nature of Touch Designer and the feedback loop it affords. Daily sketches were created by watching tutorials, attempting to reverse engineer others’ work, attempting to recreate algorithms previously implemented with code, or free play and exploration – working with video effects and feedback, geometry creation and manipulation, shaders and surface textures, face and pose detection, interfacing with web APIs, audio reactive visuals, audio synthesis and particle effects on the CPU and GPU.
